Structured Freedom
Control does not always feel restrictive in data-driven systems — sometimes, it feels like ease. I designed an interactive system that translates personal data into a dynamic, structured grid. Through shifts between chaos and order, users experience how perceived freedom is constructed and bounded by underlying systems — revealing the tension between convenience and control, and how it shapes behavior and perception.

Challenge
I designed an interactive system that translates everyday mobile data into a unified visual structure.
The interface presents this data within a rigid grid—where each unit reflects a fragment of user behavior, framed within an imposed system of order.
Solution
With “dynamic hazy narrative” as the core strategy, we created the experience from two dimensions:
Use subtle dynamic blur photography techniques to freeze the graceful momentary movement of florals, giving the images a “breathing sense”;
Pair with imagery-driven copy to turn visual images into poetic stories, creating immersive sensory resonance.
Impact
The project explores the blurred boundary between:
– Freedom and convenience
– Structure and confinement
– Control and participation
Rather than offering a fixed critique, it invites users to reflect on how much structure they accept in exchange for clarity and ease.
